Logging In


  1. If the phone is already logged in to an extension which is not yours, press the Home button, and navigate down to Log Out, and hit Ok.  
  2. On the login screen, enter your 4 digit extension.  
  3. When prompted for a password, enter 1234. (This is NOT your voicemail password! Please see below for voicemail instructions!)
  4. If you receive a warning the extension is in use, hit Continue to log in with your assigned extension.

Making a Call


  1. Lift the handset, press Speaker, or select an available line and press OK in the center of the phone.
  2. Dial 9 followed by the number.

Answering a Call


  • If you are not on another call, lift the handset, or press Speaker to answer using the speakerphone, or press Headset to answer using the headset.
  • If you are on another call and the telephone does not automatically display the incoming call, from the phone screen scroll to the line with the incoming call and press Answer or OK.  If you are on another call and the telephone does automatically display the incoming call, you can press Ans Hold to automatically put the first call on Hold when you answer the new call. Alternately, you can press Ans Drop to automatically drop the first call when you answer the new call.
  • To quickly move to the top of your call appearance list to answer an incoming call on your primary line, from the Phone screen press the Phone button. You can then press the line for the incoming call or scroll to it.

Putting a Call on Hold

Hold will appear on the bottom of the display once you are on an active call.


  1. Press the button underneath Hold. The Resume button will replace the Hold button on the bottom of the display.
  2. Press the button underneath Resume or use the up & down arrows  in the center of the phone and press OK.
  3. To connect to another call while on a call make sure you sure you put the first call on hold first.
  4. As soon as you put the first call on hold you can press the Answer button to answer the call.
  5. You will then use the up & down arrows  in the center of the phone to retrieve the call from hold. You may either press the OK or the Resume button.

Transferring a Call

Transfer will appear on the bottom of the display once you are on an active call.
  1. Once you have the caller press the button underneath Transfer and dial the telephone number, call the person from the Contacts list, or call the person from the Call Log list.
  2. Press the button underneath Complete.
  3. To cancel a transfer, press Cancel and use the up & down arrows  to return to the caller.

Call Park

This feature is a system hold, meaning a call can be put on hold and retrieved from any other extension within the office.


  1. Once you have the call press Park. You will hear a confirmation tone.
  2. Hang-up.
  3. To retrieve the call from any other extension, press the Park Ans Bk button (button label may vary), followed by the extension number of where the call was parked or enter the Park Access code followed by the extension number of the originating extension.
  4. If you want to retrieve the call from the originating extension, press the Park button again.

SAC Send All Calls

This feature allows you to send calls directly to your voicemail.


  • To activate press SAC. When this feature is activated you will see an arrow > next to the feature. You will hear a half ring as a reminder when a call comes in and DND is activated. When you pick-up the handset while SAC is activated you will hear a stuttered dial-tone as another reminder, however you will still be able to make calls.
  • To deactivate press SAC again.

Direct to Voicemail

This features allows you to transfer calls to voicemail without ringing the other user’s phone.


  1. Once you have the caller on the phone press Transfer
  2. Press DirectVM or DVM.
  3. Wait for the announcement instructing you to enter the user’s extension number
  4. Press Transfer right away.

Calling a User’s Voicemail Directly


  1. Pick up handset and press DirectVM or DVM.
  2. Wait for the announcement instructing you to enter the user’s extension number 
  3. Enter user’s extension and leave a message after the tone.

Call Forward

This feature allows you to forward your extension to another extension or an external number.


  1. Press Call Fwd. Enter the extension number or external number you want to forward to.
  2. You will hear a confirmation tone.
  3. To deactivate Call Forward, press Call Fwd.

Company Directory


  1. Press the  or  arrows (if it is not on your main screen) to navigate to the feature screen to
  2. select Directory.
  3. Enter the user’s last name.  (For example for Smith press 7, then 6 to spell out “SM”.)
  4. Keep spelling out the name.
  5. Press Next if there are multiple matches.
  6. When you have reached the name, press Make Call.
  7. If you make a mistake, press Directory again.

Conference Calls from Your Phone

Up to 6 people including yourself.


  1. Once you are on active call, press the button underneath Conference.
  2. Dial the telephone number, call the person from the Contacts list, or call the person from the Call Log.
  3. Press the button underneath Join to add the new person to the existing call.
  4. If the person you are trying to contact is unavailable, press Cancel and return to the original caller.
  5. Press the up & down arrows  to return to the caller and press the button underneath Resume or press OK in the center of the phone.
To add additional people to you conference call, repeat steps 1 through 5.

Adding a Person on Hold to a Conference Call


  1. Press the button underneath Hold to put the existing call on hold.
  2. As soon as you put the first call on hold you can press the button underneath Answer to answer the second call.
  3. To join the two calls together press the button underneath Conference.
  4. Use the up & down arrows  in the center of the phone. Press the button underneath Resume or OK in the center of the phone to select the caller on hold.
  5. Press the button underneath Join to conference in both callers.

Disconnecting the Last Person from a Conference Call


  1. Press the button underneath Drop.




Voicemail


How to Setup Your Voicemail


  1. Press MESSAGE key on phone
  2. Enter your extention, then press #.
  3. Use default password, which is 0 (followed by the # sign)
  4. Create a new password. It cannot be the same as your extension, or consecutive characters (e.g. 1234, etc).  You will be asked to enter it a second time.  This password will be required every time you check your voicemail.
  5. You will be asked to record your name.  At the end of the explanation, dial 1 to record your name and then dial 1 after you’ve recorded to save.  If satisfied, press # to accept. The system will walk you through the steps.
  6. When step 5 is completed you will be brought to the main menu. Press 3 for the greetings menu.
  7. Press 1 to create a new greeting.  Choose greeting number 1 and follow the prompts. This is your primary greeting.  (i.e. “I am out of the office or on the phone, leave your name and number…”)
  8. When you are satisfied with the greeting and it is saved, you will then be prompted to activate this greeting.  You must do so or the voicemail will use the default system greeting.

Note – If you miss this step you can log back into the voicemail system.


  • Choose option #3 for greetings
  • Choose #4 to activate greeting
  • Choose Greeting #1

How to Check Your Voicemail

  1. Press MESSAGE key on phone
  2. Press #
  3. Dial your password and #
  4. Press 2 to retrieve your messages. If you press zero, it will bypass the message header and go directly to the message.

Changing A Greeting


  1. Press MESSAGE key on phone
  2. Enter your extension and #
  3. Enter your password and #
  4. Choose option 3 for greetings, then option 1 to create/change greeting. Next, choose greeting  2, 3, 4 etc.  You should use these alternate greetings for vacation, sick day etc. You can leave greeting #1 along unless you’re unhappy with it.
  5. After recording the greeting, the system will ask if you’d like to activate it.
  6. Upon return from vacation or sick days, you will need to log back into your mailbox, choose option 3 for greetings and then option 4 to activate greetings.  Next choose option 1 for your standard greeting. This will reactivate your standard greeting.

Checking Messages From Outside The Office


  1. Dial 313-202-3658
  2. Enter your extension followed by #
  3. Enter your password followed by #

Frequently Asked Questions*

  • What is the size of my mailbox?

Each persons voicemail storage is 140 minutes. The maximum length of an individual voicemail is 20 minutes.

  • What is the retention time for messages left in my mailbox?

The retention time for all message “classes” (read, new, old, unopened, etc.) is 10 days.

  • How often does my voicemail password expire?

Voicemail passwords will never expire, and will remain the same until manually changed.
